FAQ on Accessibility Widget

Eye-Able provides you with a comprehensive solution: you can automatically create the accessibility statement based on WCAG-compliant audit reports that take the requirements of EN 301 549 into account.
To document your accessibility status with Eye-Able, you can use the “Report” section in the Eye-Able dashboard. There, you can initiate scans of your website (provided you have available credits). The results are displayed as a report in the dashboard and include an analysis of your website regarding accessibility criteria such as text contrast, element accessibility, and page titles. You can view and further process the recommendations and findings. An Accessibility Statement Generator becomes available after a successful report has been completed.
Our system performs continuous monitoring of your digital services and records all changes in detailed audit trails. This ensures seamless documentation of accessibility and provides a clear compliance record of your efforts in accordance with the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG). You therefore receive not only the statement but also the underlying data for transparent monitoring and reporting.

Eye-Able helps you identify, remediate, and document barriers on your website. With tools such as Report, Audit, and the AI assistant Ally, you can identify problematic areas and implement solutions.
In addition to removing barriers, documenting accessibility is crucial. The accessibility statement generator helps you with this. Content that is not fully accessible must be clearly identified and justified in the statement.
For particularly complex content, such as PDF documents or lists, it may be necessary to specify plans for remediation or accessible alternatives. In exceptional cases, citing a “disproportionate burden” can also serve as justification. Eye-Able supports you in documenting all these aspects precisely.
In addition, Eye-Able includes your contact details when creating the statement so that users can report problems directly.

The accessibility statement is a legally required document in Germany that describes the status of digital accessibility of your digital services (websites, apps, intranets). It is based on BITV 2.0 and EU Directive 2016/2102.
For companies as well as public bodies, it is essential for ensuring legal compliance and avoiding penalties. Eye-Able supports you in automatically generating this statement and uses a self-assessment as a basis to minimize effort and make legal compliance easier for you.

A complete statement must include the conformity status with legal requirements, a list of non-accessible content with justification (e.g., disproportionate burden) and, where applicable, accessible alternatives, the date of creation and last update, an accessible feedback mechanism, and information about the enforcement procedure (conciliation body).
Eye-Able ensures that all these elements are accurately and comprehensively included in the automatically generated statement by providing the necessary foundation in the form of continuous audit reports for accessibility documentation.

Yes, the accessibility statement must be updated annually to reflect the current state of your digital accessibility.
Eye-Able greatly simplifies this process by automatically updating the statement based on continuous monitoring and audit reports. This ensures that your accessibility documentation is always legally compliant and up to date, without requiring manual intervention each time.
